What does this mean?

Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be a chinese blue white porcelain pineapple shape jar, transfer printed with some hand painting, marked at the base with a Da Qing Qian Long Nian Zhi six character mark, of very recent production. Unfortunately this has nothing to do with the Qianlong era. The estimate is based on recent auction results for similars.

Hi Klaus. What about the rust marks on the bottom? Doesn't that indicate it is old?

Klaus Aug 11, 22:16 UTC

no, this is just an indication for poor production level. Check out videos on transfer printing technique. The "grid" is printed, the "sunrise" is hand painted. Try to avoid buying mistakes by asking us beforehand. Best of luck with your next purchase!
