This is a remarkable Asian Black Lacquer Shrine Cabinet, from based on the style, circa Meiji period. Two pairs of hinged doors opening into the altar where the gilded Buddha should be seated in the middle. Hinges of the front doors are carved with foliage motifs. Another pair of the doors inside the cabinet leads to the altar, imitating a traditional Japanese window design with meshed fabric and a circular frame. Inside doors are adorned with floral leaves, wafting clouds, and mon crest inlays
