Small metal plate underside of table top that says "Scholle's Chicago" indicating Scholle's Furniture, Co. Out of Chicago more active in the 1920s/30s. The number "525" is stamped on the undersides of the two longest edges of the table top. Made of quality wood, but I don't know what kind. Excellent condition, but it has been modified at the attachment of top to base/trestles. I can't tell if it's a marriage or a not high quality repair. Light residue spot on underside may have been where a paper label was.
72 inch length, 24 inch width, 18.5 to 19 inch height
Hi Jesse,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
From these photos, this appears to be oak, at least in great part.
Scholle Furniture Company was a Chicago-area furniture maker/retailer active in the late 1800s through the early 20th century (records and advertisements indicate establishment by the 1890s). It produced period-style wood furniture (Empire, Hepplewhite, William & Mary, etc.) that now turns up mostly in vintage/antique markets.
The top and base look like they might have started life out together (ie, not married) though it does look like it was taken off at one point, perhaps to be refinished? If you saw screw holes that don't align with the current supports that would certainly indicate a marriage.
The market for Colonial Revival dining table - widely, irrespective of style - is fairly consistent and most tables of this size and vintage usually sell for between $800 and $1,200 at auction
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
