Chinese vase brass handles
Reciever from a person I worked for
Dear Marcos,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. So that I may best assist you, can you please upload a few better images of the reverse side of the lip to decide if its porcelain or ceramic. Is it possible to make a picture of the bottom of the whole mounted vase?
With kind regards,
Georg
Have you had a chance to look at the pictures
Dear Marcos,
Thank you for the additional images and your patience. The presented object is a mounted vase with unknown measurements. It has decor who reminds more to decors of rugs then to Chinese porcelain. The material itself is probably not porcelain and a white glazed reddish ceramic mass like stoneware. The mounting is made out of brass and has a European decor. The lid shows the number 395 which is a hint that this vase was made in mass production for the European market. It could be made in Asia or in a European production like Italy in the 20th century. Nevertheless, it is a highly decorative and large-sized object.
This piece is in good condition and there are no serious damages visible.
An estimation would be between 200 to 400 USD.
This estimation is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
With best regards,
Georg
