Hi Jonathan,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
L&K stands for Lorenz Furtwängler Söhne, Lenzkirch & Kienzle and is the mark used on German-made gongs around 1890-1910.
The inlaid figures on this shelf clock are indicative of Northern European manufacture and add considerably to the charm of this clock, which - based on comparable examples - would likely sell at auction for between $100 and $150.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
An antique inlaid Northern European walnut shelf clock
with German works, circa 1900
Of square section, with flat top the case fitted with a hinged door inlaid with figures and a dog and fitted with a glass oculus, opening to a brass dial with Arabic chapter rings, bearing a brass plaque marked "L&K", over a pointed back with inlaid figures. Works numbered "35" and "1293."
Height: 20 inches: width: 7 inches; depth: 7 inches
CONDITION: This appears to be in good cosmetic condition; value assumes it is in working condition.
PROVENANCE: Inherited
$100-150*
*represents a fair-market value for auction purposes; retail or asking price may vary.

that increases the value of this a bit and I've made the revisions - thanks for clarifying
I added 7 more pictures
Thanks. I've added the numbers on the works to the appraisal but it doesn't change the value
The figures are wood inlaid not painted
