Dear Steve,
I am very sorry for my late response. I hope you had a great Christmas. Sadly the signature is still difficult to read. The artist is possibly Austrian or Hungarian. The scene depicts am Hungarian scene. Can you try to upload focused details?
With kind regards,
Georg

Dear Steve,
I wish you a Happy New Year. Thank you for your patience.
The presented object appears to be a small-sized painting made in oil paint on board with unknown measurements. The painting depicts two riders on horses with a third horse. The riders wear traditional Hungarian costume and the riders are possibly horse breeders. Hungaria was famous for its horses. The painting is signed by the artist Hans Johann HAAG (1841-1919) who mainly depicted horses in his artworks and dated 1876.
Artworks of this artist were recently offered and sold on the international and national auction market.
This piece is in good condition and there are no serious damages visible.
An estimation would be between 1.000 to 1.500 USD.
This estimation is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
With kind regards,
Georg
