Mantle clock made of wood for Tiffany & Co - but made by German clockmaker (see stamp on mechanics). Dates back to very early in 20th century - was in my grandfather's repair store for years and year, the client never returned to pick it up. Chimes every 15 minutes and on the hour. In perfect working condition, just had the pendulum reattached and the clock serviced and it keeps perfect time. Seems to have a westminster chime to it - I can forward along a video if necessary. No major damage to the piece, just the amount of wear one would expect with such an old item. Has a key and 3 key holes on the front. I believe Winterhalder Hofmeier & Schwartzenbach made these for Tiffany.

Hi Louisa,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
Winterhalder & Hofmeier (often abbreviated W & H Sch) is one of the most respected names from the Black Forest clockmaking tradition in Germany, and it’s closely tied to the village of Schwärzenbach (and nearby Friedenweiler / Neustadt in Baden).
The firm traces back to the Winterhalder family clockmaking workshops, active since the early 1800s in the Black Forest. Around 1850, Matthäus Winterhalder partnered with Johannes Hofmeier, a local clockmaker from Schwärzenbach, forming Winterhalder & Hofmeier.
Tiffany sourced high-quality clock movements from European makers.
Winterhalder & Hofmeier supplied German-made mechanical movements.
Tiffany then often housed them in finely finished cases (bronze, marble, or wood), added their own branding or retail presentation standards and sold them through high-end catalogues and showrooms.
The wood case this mantel clock has came in a few different variations (peaked vs rounded roof, distinctive feet vs compressed bun feet etc) but most are currently selling at auction for between $200 and $400, though this is a nice albeit simple model (some have quite a bit more gilt moldings) I've found some listed by retailers priced from $1,000 and up.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
