This appears to be a Persian Qashqai or Shiraz tribal rug, most likely handwoven in the Fars Province of southwestern Iran. Among the tell-tale features are the hexagonal medallions on a vertical axis, other geometric motifs, including stylized flowers, birds, and symbolic forms (a common language among Qashqai and other nomadic tribes) and dark reds, blues and ivory colors made using natural dyes from local plants and insects. Finally, the finishing on the ends is consistent with handmade nomadic rugs, where the warp threads are left as fringe.
Small runners of this vintage and condition usually sell for between $600-900 at auction, though rug dealers would likely ask much higher prices for ones they are selling.

A small vintage Persian Qashqai or Shiraz tribal hand-knotted wool runner
mid-late 20th Century
In deep jewel tones of dark red, navy blues and cream, centering five hexagonal medallions on a hexagonal cream field and red-ground spandrels (corners), with cream selvedges (fringe trim).

CONDITION: Last cleaned in 2019; appears to be in good condition; value assumes no tears, stains, odors or repairs.
