This is an early 20th century, 15" x 19" original painting by Italian figure and genre painter, Eugenio Edouardo Zampighi (1859 - 1944) of a smiling seated woman knitting. Zampighi was primarily a commission artist, meaning he was paid for his work in advance. Most of his works feature groups of people in active settings, which is also known as genre painting.
