This is a later 20th century, circa 1980, original work on canvas featuring an early 20th century, antique Model-T style hand crank automobile as seen from a front and one side perspective. It is signed 'Dondi' at lower left. There is a well known New York Graffiti artist, Donald Joseph White (1961 - 1998) who was known by the name, Dondi. He is considered an icon in early Graffiti art history and passed away at an early age from AIDS. This work does not match the style of street art of which Dondi is known; this work is done executed in a more illustrative manner with influence that is moderately the style of Bernie Fuchs. This is likely not by the known Graffiti artist, meaning this is a work by an unlisted artist. There is a Dondi White Estate, and it is recommended to at least try and contact them in the small chance this work signed Dondi is by Donald Joseph White. The estimate presumes this is an unlisted artist and is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail 'asking prices' can be higher and vary.
