An Oil Painting of aforementioned scene on canvas like paper, highly yellowed aged look. On right hand corner, it's titled (not left nor dated),and Alfred Sisley. 10 x 12inches.,Signature close to Saint Mamme's Construction de Bateaux, where title and sig. apprear together on right side. This scene the same as Flood Marley, yet slight differences in sharpness, figures in boat, or pre sketch of final ??
Unknown, donated to thriftstore
This appears to be a vintage 20th century print reproduction image on woven paper of the 1872 painting entitled Flood at Port-Marly by French painter Alfred Sisley (1839 - 1899) that has then been painted over to appear like an original painting. It is not uncommon for prints to be hand embellished to look like original paintings. This was not, however, painted over by Sisley himself. The estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail 'asking prices' can be higher and vary.
My apology for the prior submission, trusting that the re-take are acceptable !
Thank you for the additional images. Is this signed Alfred Sisley on the painting or is it just written in the margin below the image?
The latter, a hair beneath. Thanks
