painting of what appears to be 18th century european street market signed with possible signature of "Vings" or "Vinis" (?)
found among other misc items in garage of my late aunt's house in 2015
Dear Robert,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
The presented object appears to be a painting made in oil paint on canvas with unknown measurements. The artwork depicts a street scene probably in an Italian city and is signed with the name "Vinci" or "Vincis". Sadly no further information regarding the biography of this artist is mentioned in reference books or similar databases. Regarding the quality of the canvas and the style of the painting, this piece was made in the middle of the 20th century.
Works by this artist were recently not offered and sold on the international auction market.
This piece is in good condition and there is no serious damage visible in the images provided.
A fair market estimation would be between 100 to 250 USD.
This estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary.
With kind regards,
Georg
