Not sure of the artist or when it was painted.

Dear Mary,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal enquiry.
The item presented appears to be an oil painting from the second part of the 20th century. It is a rather large work, and there is an artist's signature on the lower-left of the painting. The condition of the work looks excellent overall.
Unfortunately, I had some trouble deciphering the artist's signature. I've tried many variations (such as K.W. Kenyan, Kenyon, Kanyan, Kanyon), but without success, I am afraid. If you have any further information regarding the artist's signature, please let me know, and I will be happy to research further.
Therefore, the estimate provided is based on recent auction estimates and similar paintings without artist attribution, dating from the 1950s to1990s. The current condition (based on photographs provided) has been taken into consideration when determining the estimate.
Best regards,
Karine
Dear Mary,
Unfortunately, R. W. Kenyon doesn't appear in our records. It seems to me that the painting you own has been executed by an obscure artist. Therefore, the estimate that I have given you earlier remains the same.
Best wishes,
Karine
Also invoice shows I paid twice for this estimate.
Thanks,
Mary
Dear Mary,
Someone will be in touch with you regarding your invoice.
Best wishes,

I believe the name is R. W. Kenyon. My parents had it hanging in their living room as long as I can remember. They lived in Philadelphia PA. It was given to my dad by someone who he did some work for back in the 50's - 60's.
