Based on the information and photos provided this seems to be a late 19th century pastel, a still life of fruits, e.g. melon, peaches, aples, bananas and grapes, possibly signed "Scroggie". Another pastel by this artist was sold a few years ago. Unfortunately there is only a very vague mention of an Eduard Scroggie active in Illionois at the turn of the century. The estimate is based on similar items by lesser known artists offered or sold at auction. There is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to the item.
