What does this mean?

This is an antique, 19th century, Victorian era, still life oil on canvas painting in modern frame that depicts nut fruits from a thorny branch tree and what appears to be a device for removing the shells. The painting is signed L. Veale at lower right. Various permutations of the last name were searched as well, however this is not a name of a listed artist, meaning one known to be actively sought at auction. This was likely done by a hobbyist painter. The estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail 'asking prices' can be higher and vary.
