This is a near mid 20th century original framed oil on canvas painting entitled "Central Park" by a New York City based artist by the name of Ralph Oscar Weidhaas. The painting depicts a young couple enjoying a tourist's horse-drawn carriage ride in New York City's Central Park. The woman's dress and the man's sailor uniform date this to the 1940s and likely around the time of World War II. There is an exhibition label affixed to the back showing this was sent to an art show in Texas. There is relatively scant information available on the artist. he did have an affinity for painting carriages and his works are considered in the style of the Ashcan School. The estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail 'asking prices' can be higher and vary.
