Painting was taken out of Russia during the revolution circa 1917. It was brought to Yugoslavia in its original frame. The current owner bought it from his relatives in 1972.

This appears to be a dutch third quarter 19th century painting, depicting a family at the coastline, the man wearing dutch folk costume trowers of the 19th century, the kids wearing traditional dutch wooden shoes, a moored dutch flat bottomed fishing vessel with leeboards in the distance.The painting is not signed or monogrammed. Without a signature it will be very difficult to attribute the painting to a certain artist. It is a very pleasant painting done by an experienced artist. The estimate is based on similar paintings by lesser known dutch artist offered or sold at auction.
