It's considered european work on fine linen, oil technique paiting that has been in my family since the late 18th century, originally purchased in Naples, Italy, and passed down through generations. Recent expert observations (from local and online evaluators) suggest it may belong to the period and style of Rembrandt or his school, or an Italian artist with a chiaroscuro technique. On the reverse side, there is a handwritten note in pencil that reads “Remembrant Nápoles.” The painting is in good condition, with minor wear and a crack approximately 1.5 cm long, resembling an inverted “L.”
