The painting is an oil on board or panel depicting a boat named Carthaginian docked in a body of water with other smaller boats surrounding. The painting is signed E. Sanchez. It is an oil on board. It is 20x16.
Unknown it was donated from an estate sale to a thrift store. The painting looks like maybe something was spilled on it, but it is not higly visible.
Hi Juanita,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
I can't see where something might have spilled but, of an abundance of caution, I've appraised this conservatively.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
Emilio Sanchez (New York / Cuba, 1921-1999)
The Carthaginian (n.d.)
oil on board
20 by 16 inches
signed lower left
CONDITION: may have had something spill on it
PROVENANCE: acquired at a thrift store

I thought about that, but all of the 21 examples of ES Perrier's signature on AskArt include his last name Perrier, and none are in this block style.
Okay, thanks.
I was advised that the signature looks more like Emilio Sánchez Perrier. Could that be correct?
